BANDO INDUSTRIAL BELTS
Bando industrial belts are a superb solution for power transmission between shafts that are not axially aligned. Belts run smoothly with little noise or vibrations, and they cushion motors and bearings against load changes. They need no lubrication and require little maintenance. They have very high efficiency, usually around 95% and up to 98%. When toothed belts are used they provide excellent precision when a constant ratio between shaft rotational speeds is important.
V-belts
Adopted to solve the slippage and alignments problems that are more common with flat belts. They are an excellent combination of traction, bearing load, speed and long life. Their cross-section is actually trapezoidal, and this fits into the V on the pulley to provide a self-centering system where the belt cannot slip off. As the load increases the belt tends to bed further into the groove which increases friction and therefore torque transmission.
Toothed belts
Often used as timing belts because of their incredible efficiency. They have teeth that fit into matching teeth on the pulley. They have no slippage, run at a constant speed, and are often used for either indexing or timing purposes. Their main advantage over gears or chains is the lower noise and vibration, and the lack of a need for lubrication.

BANDO Bancord Polyurethane Round Belts (Open End) – Open-end for Heat Splicing
BANDO BANCORD round belts are offered in two compounds:
- Standard Compound 480 – 80° Shore A
- High Modulus Compound 489 – 90° Shore A
BANCORD open-end round belts are made from a polyurethane base, whose physical characteristics make it possible to heat splice the ends for a seamless version.
- Temperature resistant from -0° to +50° C

Characteristics
Exceptionally high power transmission capacity:
The High Performance STS Belt achieves approximately 1.4 to 1.8 times greater power transmission than conventional STS belts.
Compact design:
The high power transmission enables belt width to be minimized, thus making system design as compact as possible.
Low noise:
The minimal belt width enables low noise operation.

1./3. Rubber:
Synthetic rubber having less tooth deformation and a high level of hardness.
2. Tensile member:
Fibreglass tension member, with consideration for dimensional stability and flexibility.
4. Tooth canvas:
The tooth canvas has asperities on the surface and provides a low friction coefficient, accomplishing a low noise level of operation.
Furthermore, the S14M type provides two-ply tooth canvas which enables further reductions in noise levels and improved durability. The HPS-5M type is only available for clean specifications.

1. Neoprene rubber backing (single toothed)
The tensile members are hermetically enclosed by the durable and flexible backing. It is made of strong, resistant and very thin neoprene rubber protecting the tensile members from oil, humidity and wear through friction.
2. Tension members
The tensile members consist of constantly helically wound glass fibre resulting in high tensile strength and flexibility.
3. Neoprene teeth
The teeth are made from a moderately tough, shear resistant and robust neoprene compound vulcanised as a unit with the neoprene-backing.
4. Nylon fabric canvas
The teeth are covered by a tough and very wear resistant Nylon-fabric canvas protecting the teeth against wear. The material has a very low friction coefficient thus additionally supporting the good running characteristics of the Bando STS Synchronous Belts. The clean canvas used for S1.5M, S2M and S3M belts clearly reduces rubber dust.

Belt Description
There are two types of BANCOLLAN V-Belts from high quality POLYURETHANE:
VC Single Cogged Type
DC Double Cogged Type
Pulleys of 16 mm diameter and upwards can be used due to the belts very high flexibility. The cast belt profile shows very narrow tolerances, which leads to a very smooth running. Due to the use of polyurethane the drive remains “clean“ compared to rubber V-belts. High resistance to oil, fats and chemicals are further advantages of BANCOLLAN V-Belts.

BANFLEX Scrum banded V-Belts
Belt Description
Banded BANFLEX SCRUM polyurethane V-belts were developed especially for high speed drives with a belt speed of up to 60 m/s.
The ground flanks and enlarged profile angle provide for extremely low vibration running. Small pulley diameters and higher belt speeds permit compact and light drives. Ideal for horizontal drives. The use of polyurethane makes the belt highly resistant to oil and ozone. The diagonally grooved back of the belt optimizes its flexibility.
